30 Bird Productions was formed in 1996 by the Director/Producer team of Mehrdad Seyf and Claire Summerfield at Riverside Studios, London. Leslie Travers joined the Company as Resident Designer in 1998.

Origins of the Name

The name 30 Bird comes from the Persian story The Conference of the Birds…

One day the Hoopoe turns to his flock and says:
“How can we call ourselves a flock without having a proper leader?”
“Who do you have in mind?” They reply
“There is only one bird who can be our leader – Seemorgh” (or Thirty Bird)

So, all the birds agree to give up their daily pleasures and follow the Hoopoe in the quest to find their illustrious leader. During their journey, they have many adventures but find no trace of Thirty Bird. As they fly through the air, little do they know that, being thirty in number, they are 30 Bird.
